Polaris has released specs on the 2016 RZR lineup and as
anticipated, they didn’t disappoint. A Turbo RZR anyone?
Along with the standard line of the popular side-by-side,
Polaris has raised the bar and will offer a high performance turbo model. The
2016 RZR XP Turbo EPS has been completely engineered to deliver a new level of
performance. The new turbo charged engine has gone through substantial testing,
with enough test miles to travel around the world 9 times according to Polaris.
Speaking of the engine, it will provide an industry leading
144 horsepower and go 0-60 mph in 5.89 seconds. Add to that 45 percent more
torque and you can see why there’s so much excitement around this thing.
In order to handle all that power, Polaris added a stronger
driveline complete with a new drive belt, clutches, and stronger transmission. It
also features a new True On-Demand All Wheel Drive System to evenly distribute
that power.
The RZR XP Turbo EPS will offer a smooth ride and precise
handling thanks to the finely tuned FOX Podium Internal Bypass Shocks. To go
along with the large diameter shocks, Polaris outfitted the new RZR with bigger
coil-over springs with varying stiffness to handle a variety of terrains. You won’t
need to worry about travel either, as the 90 inch wheelbase with 3-Link
trailing arm will provide 18 inches of rear travel and an impressive 13.5
inches of ground clearance.
Polaris knows how much enthusiasts love to customize their
vehicles so they gave the RZR XP Turbo a 660 Watt charging system with the
battery featuring 575 cold cranking amps and 44 amp-hours of capacity. Combine
that with our low draw RF Series and LP Series LED lighting and you’ll be able
to go all night.
We have several lighting and mounting options for the entire RZR family including:
The RZR XP Turbo EPS will be available in August and we can’t
wait to get some lights mounted on one.
